According to CDC, Prediabetes is a serious health condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough yet to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. Approximately 96 million American adults—more than 1 in 3—have prediabetes. Of those with prediabetes, more than 80% don’t know they have it. Prediabetes puts you at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

Community Health Promotion:
Diabetes Prevention(CHP-DP)

If you have type 2 diabetes, Your body cannot properly use insulin, which could cause you to have high blood sugar levels. People who have diabetes are at high risk for serious complications such as Blindness, Kidney Failure, Heart Disease, Stroke, Loss of Toes, Feet, or Legs. 

Prediabetes:

Prediabetes can lead to type 2 diabetes and also increases the risk of heart attack and stroke, but it doesn’t have to. We can help you take steps to reverse prediabetes or slow the onset of type 2 diabetes.

We offer the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) lifestyle change program, which is proven to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. Our CHP-DP Program at Womens Health First can help you reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
